The new social, does it take to much time?

Gone are the days of voice mails and faxes. So much info and so little organization in those days! I guess we fixed this issue, didn’t we? This made its start with email lists, IM, move to blogs and Facebook, lately tweets and everything in between. Are we losing touch with communication between one another today?

What is too much and what is not enough? Do people send you a link and then paste the entire page into the message? The flip side presents the person who will just send a tinyurl with no heads up at all?

Now that we have hundreds of micro pieces of shout out or share with you type of info, are we spending too much time investigating it? Would it have been better if the full thought of the sender needed to exceed 140 characters?
